Savannah's Giggles

Savannah Jo and her daddy are so smitten with each other. Michael's been working in Dallas the last two weeks, and so this weekend we had fun discovering Savannah's laugh upon his return. He makes a popping noise and she giggles. Enjoy.

A New Strategy for a New World

My Iphone

I would like to start out with a brief apology to all of you readers who may have tried to call me in the past few weeks and have not heard back from me. I have a valid excuse. My Iphone doesn't like to function as a phone. Let me preface this with a thank-you to my sweet husband because he was thoughtful enough to get me this fun toy last Christmas and it's been a lot of fun. AND he has been so patient when I've complained about the defective device. SO all of that being said. I have a fun toy that functions half of the time but definately has issues and will be attempting to exchange or trade it in sometime soon because I get rather annoyed when I am unable to place calls or check my voicemail. The screen freezes up. My personal favorite glitch is when it decides to not recognize my touch as I am trying to escape out of someones voicemail. I was connected to my brother-in-laws line for about five minutes a couple of weekends ago when I finished my message but the phone wouldn't let me disconnect and his voicemail box just let it keep going I guess! :) Technology is so fun and yet so frustrating when you are used to a certain convenience and it is not working. Oh well. I will let you know what happens next when I am able to go by the AT&T store sometime.

Tastefully Simple

My friend Danielle Gillooly has taken on a new role as a Tastefully Simple consultant and so to be a good friend I agreed to host her first party a few weekends ago. Let me tell you it was the funnest in home party ever. Really, we only had a few people here but it was so great to go through her presentation and the catalog AND sample many of the easy recipes/foods. I highly recommend hosting a Tastefully Simple event and let me know so that I can be a guest too!

A Friendly Barbecue

We had a tasty barbecue on the Fourth of July. It was nice to visit with friends and family over the weekend and just take it easy. Thanks to all of you who joined us for Guitar Hero, yummy eats, and fun. And to those whom we didn't see, we hope that your Independence Day celebrations were fun and safe.

Savannah's 1st Parade

So she hasn't quite perfected her parade float wave yet but nonetheless she participated in her first parade today. We had a fun Independance Day Parade at Primrose School at Vista Ridge today and Savannah did great. In fact all of the babies were a hit thanks to the dedication and creativity of her wonderful teachers! Each of the infants were wearing a custom onesie with the child's footprints and name with the year in patriotic colors on the front. Most of the kids in the school were dressed in fun patriotic colors and/or costumes and then each child had the opportunity to march around the parking lot in a parade. To top off the event Mr. Herbstreit put on a Coke Fountain display. Have you ever seen what Mento's can do to Coke? It was a fun show and parade for the participants and the audience. AND it was a fun kick-off to a much deserved 3-day weekend!
