Saying Goodbye is Never Easy

So, yesterday marked my final day as the Assistant Director at Primrose School at Vista Ridge. It was a happy day with somber moments of realization that Savannah and I wouldn't be there every day seeing all the familiar faces that have made up my work family. It sure is difficult leaving behind a job that I have loved but I hope to be able to keep in touch with my friends and am now looking forward to being "retired" and focusing on another job that I absolutely love, being a wife to Michael and Mom to Savannah. I want to extend a special thank-you to all of the teachers that have taken such good care of my sweet Savannah. AND to everyone at Primrose that supported me there in my position. I really will miss seeing everyone and want you all to know how much you've touched my life for good.

Our little girl loves to dance. She only needs to hear a little beat or rhythm for her to get her groove on. We think she's pretty talented.

Great News from Japan! I'm an auntie again!

I received the following email from my sister Miyuki in Japan. It's been months since I last heard from her and so I am thrilled to read a message from her and especially to find out that she has been blessed with 2 more healthy babies! Sorry I've not contacted for long time.

I had bad morning sickness last year and gave birth to baby boy twin on December 17th.Their name is Eitaro and Ryounosuke.

Shinichi and I have 3childrens now. We are very very happy and busy......

I'm always watching your blog almost everyday and also mom's blog.

1. We're expecting baby #2 in July. 2. Being a mother is my favorite job in the world. 3. I love Oreo cookies - who doesn't though. :) 4. I absolutely love 80's and early 90's music. 5. I prefer warm climates but enjoy snuggling up in the cold with my sweetheart. 6. I cannot drink room temperature beverages...water, milk, soda, juice - it has to be ice cold. 7. I enjoy cheesy tv comedies like Scrubs, The Office, and 40 Rock. Thursday nights keep my giggling. 8. Jazz music is my least favorite genre. I just can't get into it. 9. As much as I curse my Iphone, I really do love having it. It's a convenient toy when it works properly! 10. I have a lazy eye, always have and probably always will. It's most apparent when I'm sleep deprived. 11. I moved around a lot as a kid but consider myself from Portland Oregon. 12.Yes, I believe in recycling....if only I could make my hubby a believer. lol. 13. I'm most amused by my daughter Savannah dancing. She swings her hips like Elvis! 14. My husband has been in Texas since 1994. I came to Texas originally as a missionary in 1999. 15. I love to travel to faraway places. I like adventure. 16. I'm a dog person not much of a cat person. 17. My favorite restaurant is Macaroni Grill. 18. I enjoy coloring kids menu's at restaurants. 19. Michael and I have been married for seven and a half years now. 20. I have two adorable mutts that sing along to sirens. 21. My favorite snack is chips & salsa or queso. 22. I consider myself very fortunate to have such an amazing family, immediate and extended. 23. I get creeped out by shows like CSI. If I watch 'em before bedtime I have nightmares. 24. I am addicted to checking my email. I check it every day but am not so faithful at responding to emails. 25. I am the eldest of five children.

Saturday Morning Fun

It was a chilly morning in central Texas last Saturday, but just perfect for a family outing. We couldn't resist a bike run with the dogs, taking a stroll around the neighborhood, and frolicking in the backyard.

New Year's Resolutions

2008 was a year filled with blessings for our family, the greatest of which was the addition of Savannah to our circle of love. We've enjoyed good health, good friends in Central Texas, loving and supportive families, among many others. We hope 2009 is an even greater year. Michael and I have made resolutions similar to the ones set every year. We hope to exert ourselves a little more to improve all aspects of ourselves and our lives. We would like to be more Christ-like in our dispositions. We would also like to be a little bit more focused on healthy living, to increase our focus on family, giving back and giving more of ourselves through service to others, to be a little more charitable, and on building up our spiritual reserves. Oh yeah... AND we are gonna take a family vacation this year. Savannah pledges to walk soon and to continue to make everyone around her smile.
