early flights are the way to go

On Saturday April 3rd the girls and I awoke extra early and said goodbye to Austin for a couple of weeks. Some folks would cringe at the idea of traveling with two young children but honestly I was most concerned about getting everything checked at the airport and going through security in a timely fashion. Fortunately for me, my dear friend Tonja was sweet enough to drive us to the airport and after getting a security pass, assist with getting us to the plane. (Thanks again my dear!) Once again I've been blessed with great traveling kids. Both of my girls did awesome on the flights. Savannah was excited and Lexi mimicked whatever mood Savannah was in. At their ages it doesn't take much to entertain them, ie fold-down tray tables are great fun to latch and unlatch over and again. And because we started off super early, much of the time in flight was spent sleeping. Yep, early flights are the way to go!

Dress up

So when you have two little girls, you tend to buy cute dress up items from the dollar section at Target and then the fun never ends!

Sunday Sundae's for Savannah

In honor of Savannah turning two, we had a small group of family and friends join us at our home for build-your-own ice cream "Sunday Sundae's." There were over 10 different toppings to create the perfect sweet treat and I contemplated if I were to put some ground flax-seed on my sundae would it cancel out the cookie bits, caramel, etc?! haha. With ice cream being the theme, I couldn't resist adding the ice cream cone pinata to the party activities. And it certainly was a hit! Thanks to some of our fav's coming and sharing in the fun and for spoiling our sweet princess with your presence and/or presents. :-)

Milestones Remembered

We often visit Sears photo studio to capture the fun stages of life of our sweet girls. So this week we stopped in again to commemorate Savannah turning 2 years old and Alexandra at 8 months old. How these babies are growing so fast baffles me, but alas it is so. Savannah is still our sweet princess and a great big sister. She loves to "help" and count. My favorite thing besides her telling me she loves me is when she'll say "count with me Mommy" and proceed to count 1-4. All of our practicing and then following along with Dora has made her pretty excited to count things. So even at the photo studio we were waiting our turn and after saying "count with me Mommy" she proceeded to count the 11 chairs. I chimed in to help when she got up to eight. Alexandra is also a sweet princess. She adores her big sister and is all smiles for her unless sister is giving her a love-bite. Oops. lol. Little Lexi is already crawling and enjoys exploring to find new toys. We've especially enjoyed that she is in the fun babbling stage too, so we can pretend that she is saying real names like "Mama" or "Vanna." It's such a blessing to have these sweet girls be a part of our family and I am truly blessed to be their Mom.
