Just Passing Through

My brother Anthony graduated in December from his Air Force ParaJumper training. He is finally a "PJ" and joins the elite special forces squadron who wear maroon berets. The USAF has stationed Anthony at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta Georgia. This means that Anthony and his family had to move from New Mexico to Georgia. Lucky for us, the great 'ol state of Texas lies in the path of the route between New Mexico and Georgia, so we were fortunate to get to spend some quality time with Anthony, Chelsea, and Ethan for a few days.
The family made it to central Texas with the baby, moving truck and all. This was their resting stop from the first half of the journey. The next afternoon, Anthony continued the second half of the trip, but this time with Michael by his side. I wish that I had gotten a picture of Michael driving the big yellow Penske moving truck with trailer behind it...That thing was a long load and the trip proved longer than they anticipated because the speed maxed out at 65mph. After about twelve hours straight on the road, the guys arrived safely at their destination and then started the process of unloading the truck into the new house. Meanwhile Chelsea and Ethan explored Austin with me for a couple of days. I took them to see some of the beautiful area parks and downtown sights. Ethan is such a cutie and really all smiles. I kept working with him to say new words and though he didn't manage "auntie" he did somewhat master "thank you." It was really nice to spend time with the little man and his sweet momma, Chelsea. Michael flew back to Texas Sunday afternoon, while Chelsea and baby flew out to Georgia the same afternoon. Both Michael and I agreed that the only thing that would've made the visit better would have been being able to spend more time all together rather than separated. We are looking forward to our next re-union in the future.
