Dallin H. Oaks, Ensign > May 1987
In modern revelation, parents who are members of the Church are commanded to bring their children “before the church,” where the elders “are to lay their hands upon them in the name of Jesus Christ, and bless them in his name” (D&C 20:70). This is why parents bring babies to a sacrament meeting, where an elder—usually the father—gives them a name and a blessing.

So I've been trying to get this post finished for a week now and every time I login to our blog, my internet has frozen up. I know that I typically run behind in posting but just wanted to put in this disclaimer for the extreme delay nearly two weeks after the fact. :-) ___________________________________________________________
We were so fortunate to have family and friends around to support us for this great event. (As mentioned in the previous post - Anthony, Chelsea, and Ethan surprised us the day before so that they could be with us all. Us all = my parents, my cousin Shelleigh & her boyfriend Noe, and our great Austin friends.)
And of course, no happy occasion is complete without a barbecue! We loved sharing the afternoon with our nearest and dearest Austin- family. It was a great day to remember and revisit. Thanks to all who made it so special.

What a cute little angel. Sorry we missed the blessing. Brenna would love to have seen her cousins in person.
This was such a wonderful day with Lexi looking like such an angel.
I'll never forget how excited Savannah was when she saw her dress, then walked out like a little princess, knowing she looked beautiful. Her words "Wow" said it all.
