The adventure begins

On Thursday evening my Mom flew into Austin to accompany us on a family trip to Kenya. We all drove to Houston early in the morning on Friday and were on our first flight of our 32 hour journey by 10am. It was a long exhausting process especially due to the excitement/lack of sleep the preceding nights but in hindsight I think that it couldn't have gone much smoother than it did. We were fortunate that all three of the flights were not over-booked so both of our girls each had their own seat and were quite comfortable in their travel car seats. The funny thing about traveling with little ones is the amount of stuff that you have to bring along. I appreciated that we adults outnumbered the girls because extra hands were necessary to accommodate them and their entertainment and/or treats, diapering items, spare clothing, etc. Even Savannah had a roll along bag to fit more items in! The result of this careful packing, planning, and toting was that the girls seemed to enjoy the adventure quite a bit and many fellow passengers commented that they were very well behaved and appreciated still being able to sleep even though they were seated so close to young ones. And the blessing is that we made it safe and sound. Now if only our luggage would've been so lucky...

AMEN! I always have so much stuff when we go on trips. I am glad that the airlines have never fussed at me! I love Savannah's roll along bag. I can't wait to hear more about your trip!
