Amy is in Austin Texas

When we took our trip to Kenya last year we did our best to fit in as much time as we could with family and friends there. One of our quickest visits was with dear cousin Amy Odindo. One evening we met her at a downtown diner in Nairobi where we shared a meal and watched the gridlock traffic slowly clear. I really was so focused on our girls and the many distractions of being a mom in a city that I don't know well, etc so I regretfully didn't get to know Amy all that well in those few hours. Lucky for me, Amy made her way to Texas and we were able to spend some quality time together and bond. She is such a fun gal and I've really enjoyed having her here with us.

Amy works for Kenya Airways and so she is blessed to get discounted airfare. It was a blessing that she had applied for a visa to visit a friend in the US last year and the visa didn't expire until the 20th of January this year. When she brought up the visa at dinner (during our Kenya visit) to Michael he encouraged her to use the visa and make the trip. I'm so glad that she took him up on the invitation because it was so great to get to know her and connect with another member of the family. She and Michael are 2nd cousins and I had the pleasure of meeting her lovely Mom (Auntie Alice) on my first visit to Kenya. Sadly her Mom has since passed so Amy provides for her younger sisters to attend university and better their situations. She is a very giving and loving individual and I hope that we will be able to keep in contact through our busy schedules when she returns back to Nairobi next week.
